What do we believe?

In this section you will find a brief explanation of our theological views.

Trinity

We believe in the eternal Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19

Bible

We believe that the Bible, or Holy Scripture, originated by the Spirit of God; it is perfect, true, and has full authority.

Every God-breathed Scripture is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.
2 Timothy 3:16

Sin

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God. The first man, Adam, disobeyed God’s command and fell into sin; thus all humanity inherited sin and death. The union between God and man has been broken.

As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongues they speak deceit; the poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood. Ruin and misery are in their ways, unn and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyes. But we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God, because by works of the law no human being will be justified in His sight; through the law comes the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been revealed apart from the law; the Law and the Prophets testify to it. But the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ is for all and upon all who believe in Him, for there is no distinction. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ died as a substitutionary sacrifice for every person on earth, and everyone who believes in Him receives eternal life.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Jesus Christ’s humanity and divinity

We believe that in the person of Jesus Christ two natures are united—divine and human.

For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form.
Colossians 2:9

Eternal life

We believe that Jesus Christ died as a substitutionary sacrifice for every person on earth, and everyone who believes in Him receives eternal life.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that all who believe in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead and was sent on the day of Pentecost to proclaim Christ, for His glorification and for the building up of the Church.  The Holy Spirit  searches all things (1 Corinthians 2:10),  is almighty (Romans 15:19),  is omnipresent (Psalm 139:7-12) and  regenerates a person for eternal life with God (John 3:3-5)

But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
Gospel of John 14:26

Transformation

We believe that the evidence that a person—that is, a Christian—has been born from above is shown by a complete transformation of life: hatred of sin, love for one’s neighbor and for God. We believe that for salvation and a full spiritual life, faith in Jesus Christ is sufficient and other emotional experiences are not necessary. In Jesus Christ is all fullness.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, all has become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17

Church

We believe that the Church consists of people who have been born from above—that is, people who believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

And all who believed were together, and they had everything in common.
Acts 2:44

Christ’s Great Commission

We believe that the worship of God, the preaching of the Gospel to unbelievers, and the strengthening of those who have turned to faith is Christ’s great commission to the Church.

Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Gospel of Matthew 28:19

 New heaven and new earth

We believe in the creation of a new heaven and a new earth, and in the establishment of the Kingdom of God.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I, John, saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will live among them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain, for the former things have passed away. And He who sat on the throne said: Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me: Write, for these words are most true and right.

Ordinances of faith

We believe that Jesus Christ has given the local church two foundational holy ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that these two ordinances are to continue until the return of Jesus Christ. Baptisms take place on the basis of faith, at an age of understanding.

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread, and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said: “Take, eat; this is My body, which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me,” In the same way also He took the cup after supper, saying: “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26

It corresponds to baptism, which now also saves you—not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as a pledge to God of a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 3:21
