...For where two or three have gathered in My name,
there I am among them.
Gospel of Matthew 18:20
The Vangaži City Baptist Church is a small community of believers. It is a place where everyone can get to know God better, grow in faith, fellowship with other Christians, and seek their calling in life. It is an opportunity to talk and reflect about life, about relationships, and about Jesus Christ.
We know and, as a result of personal experience, have become convinced that Christianity is not about loneliness. God unites people in His family. Therefore we want to walk the path of faith together—encouraging and supporting one another, learning to reconcile, to believe, and to love. Therefore we meet for worship every Sunday in the church premises.
We are convinced that faith is about relationships. Faith is about restored relationship with the Creator and restored relationships between people. What kind of relationships can there be without conversations? Therefore we pray—in our own words, together and individually. Because prayer is a conversation with God.
We believe that Christ is the foundation and center of Christianity. Therefore we read and study the Bible so that through the Holy Scriptures we may come to know Jesus Christ and build a personal, deep relationship with Him.
What is service? To serve means to use the gifts and abilities that the Lord has given. It means to find the thing God is calling you to and do it with joy. It means to love others as yourself—to help, encourage, and exhort with love. We want to be a blessing to our city and its residents; we want to bring joy, be ready to lend a helping hand in a difficult moment, and reveal the values set out in the Bible—faith in God and love for one’s neighbor. We learn to do good works; we try, we fall, and we try again!
We believe that Jesus Christ’s great command “go and make disciples of all nations” applies to every Christian. Therefore we, as a church, want to share the good news, tell about the Lord’s great love, and introduce as many people as possible to Jesus Christ.
